Hartford County, Connecticut Warrant Search

Warrants in Hartford County are judicial written orders that permit law enforcement to arrest a person suspected of a crime or to lawfully search a designated premises or property for criminal evidence.

Pursuant to the Connecticut Practice Book, Section 36-2, criminal arrest warrants remain confidential until after the named suspect is apprehended, except where the court issues a sealing order. Similarly, C.G.S. § 54-33c restricts the public dissemination of search warrants until after their execution and return to the court, or upon legal expiration (10 days after issuance), unless the court seals the warrant.

Unexecuted warrants are generally confidential in Connecticut. However, bench warrants issued in open court proceedings-for example, failure to appear (FTA) warrants-may be disclosed publicly.
